Middle East Conglomerate Engages for Accelerated E-Invoicing Implementation

Compliance deadlines have a way of arriving faster than anyone planned for. That is more or less what happened here. A large conglomerate operating across multiple business verticals in the Middle East had been tracking regional e-invoicing mandates at a comfortable distance, right up until that distance closed. When it did, they needed a partner who understood both the regulatory layer and the systems sitting underneath it.

The group runs a complex SAP environment. Multiple entities, multiple transaction flows, all of which now need to feed into a compliant e-invoice solution that can handle the volume without creating new reconciliation headaches on the back end. That is where most implementations quietly go sideways, not on the mandate itself, but on what happens to the data once the invoice is generated. Getting those entity-by-entity mappings right will take more groundwork than a surface-level assessment suggests. Accely’s technology consulting services team has done enough of these across the region to know where the pressure points sit before the project calendar even gets going.

The engagement has formally kicked off. The current phase is focused on discovery and system mapping across the group’s primary entities, understanding how each one transacts, where the SAP configuration differs, and what needs to be standardized before any build work begins.

What makes this one less straightforward than a typical deployment is the conglomerate structure itself. Parent entities, subsidiaries, joint ventures, each with slightly different transaction patterns and ERP configurations. Standardizing invoice output across all of them while keeping individual entity logic intact is not something a templated rollout can handle cleanly. The team is working through it methodically, entity by entity.

The client evaluated a few options before signing with Accely. The decision came down to regional familiarity and a track record specifically with compliance-driven SAP projects in the Gulf. For organizations still working through their own readiness assessments, having a digital transformation partner who has already navigated these mandates in-market is a different conversation than working with someone learning the local requirements alongside you. The implementation is now underway and both sides are aligned on what a clean, compliant go-live looks like.
