UAE’s FMCG Company Streamlines Operations Through SAP AMS Engagement

A leading FMCG and consumer goods organization in the UAE has engaged Accely to bring greater consistency to the way its SAP landscape is supported and managed. Operating in an environment where pricing controls, distributor margins, and inventory accuracy are closely monitored, the business has limited tolerance for system instability, particularly during seasonal and promotional peaks. Early conversations made it clear that any intervention needed to improve predictability without disturbing tightly sequenced order-to-cash cycles.

The engagement has been structured around SAP Application Management Services (AMS), beginning with a close look at how incidents, enhancements, and routine maintenance were actually handled in practice. While the SAP core is stable and well embedded, support ownership has evolved over time across internal teams and multiple vendors. In day-to-day operations this worked reasonably well, but during disruptions it created friction around prioritisation and response timing. As part of onboarding, Accely’s technology consulting services team is working with business and IT stakeholders to align support expectations with how sales, supply chain, and finance teams operate under real conditions, not just documented processes.

As the transition progresses, SAP Managed Services are being phased in to consolidate monitoring, incident response, and routine support under a clearer governance model. One early, joint decision was to pause non-essential functional changes during the handover period. This was a deliberate trade-off. While it deferred some requested enhancements, it allowed teams to focus first on stabilising ownership, escalation paths, and service rhythms before introducing additional variables into the landscape.

Regional considerations have also influenced sequencing. In the UAE Audit readiness and accuracy of data remain not a matter of negotiation for FMCG organizations that handle large volumes of transactions across several legal entities. This is why more importance is being given to documents and approval procedures in the beginning stages and even when this requires additional actions in the short-term.

In this project, Accely will work with the client to develop an efficient and long-term SAP help model to balance operational controls and flexibility.
